Your health is always our primary concern here within The Compassionate Friends. TCF PWC continues to monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation.
With regard to both TCF local meetings and activities, and in your own personal lives, we strongly emphasize the basic guidelines from the CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/index.html
- Wash your hands with soap frequently
- Avoid touching your face
- Stay home if you are sick
- Avoid close contact with sick people
- Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze
- Use a mask to cover your face.
As circumstances develop in the coming days and weeks, we will stay in touch and communicate with you all as necessary.
Thank you again for your understanding and for your extra care and caution during this time.

The TCF Prince William Chapter Monthly Meeting for 21 April 2020 is being canceled. With the current concerns in regards to the “Coronavirus Pandemic” and with consideration to all to warnings by the CDC and other health agencies, Shane Williams, Chapter Leader, has decided upon consultation with the National Office of the Compassionate Friends that with an abundance of caution that the April 2020 Monthly Meeting for TCF PWC will be canceled.
In addition, the church we held our at, Buckhall United Methodist, has put out the following notice:
“Buckhall Church will continue to be closed tonight through April. Bishop of VA asked us to do this to help slow down the Coronavirus. Such a strange time.”
The feeling is that the best way to prevent exposure is the following:
1. Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds at a time
2. If you have to cough or sneeze, do so into the crook of your arm
3. Stay at least 3 ft. away from anyone who appears sick or is coughing/sneezing
4. Avoid large gatherings
5. If you are sick, see your doctor earlier rather than later.
6. If you are sick, stay home and do not expose others.
Because of the above, it has been decided that though the risk is not high that caution is the better option when it comes to the health of our members and parents.
At this time, we are canceling the April Monthly meeting but reserve the right to cancel other meetings as necessary.
